Walt Disney's 1928 animated short Steamboat Willie take Caitlin and Ira down a river cartoon history. After eighteen episodes, the Disney Feelings have finally arrived! The United States National Film Registry deemed this cartoon "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" and it turns out we agree.

Don Bluth’s beautiful animated fantasy is from 1981; one of the last years it was totally ok to make deeply weird and upsetting movies for kids. Keep an eye out for a few drops of cartoon blood.

Today we are talking about what we can all agree, no questions asked, no debate necessary, is the greatest film of all time, according to local podcast host and cartoon mogul Caitlin Cadieux. Jump into the super-collider with us as try to wrap our brains around what makes this movie so dang good.

Join us today as we journey beyond the veil and into Pixar’s Soul, the latest and possibly the last film we’ll see helmed by Pete Docter from the studio. In many ways, Soul feels like a true culmination of the past two decades of Pixar’s work – and certainly of Pete Docter’s oeuvre.
